Comments and questions under our guides are there to help: the person who will have your exact question next week. So, a few simple rules.
What we are happy to publish
- Questions about the article: "Do I need an LLC before I join an affiliate program?", "How much traffic does it take before affiliate links start paying?". I answer with numbers from my own sites and stores, or with the rule in hand.
- Your own experience and numbers: what worked, what did not, how long it took, what it cost.
- Corrections: if something has changed or I got it wrong, tell me. I fix the article and mark the update date.
What we do not publish
- Referral codes or affiliate links. Under affiliate articles everyone would like to drop their own link, and the discussion would turn into a classifieds board. We also do not want to judge whose link is "better". Many affiliate programs and networks forbid posting links in other people's comment sections, and a network can close your account together with your commissions for it. Such comments go to moderation automatically; we remove the link and publish the rest.
- Personal data, yours or anyone else's: account numbers, Social Security or National Insurance numbers, phone numbers, screenshots with personal details.
- Get-rich-quick promises, pyramids and "systems". We talk about real numbers, not about how to "make $10,000 a week".
- Insults, profanity and hate, toward anyone. Criticism yes, abuse no.
- Ads, spam and illegal content.
How moderation works
- We approve the first comment from each email address by hand, usually within a day. Later comments appear straight away, unless a filter holds them (a referral code or link, more than one link to sites other than our fleet and official government pages, profanity).
- Links in comments get the
nofollowattribute, so posting them does nothing for SEO. - Every comment has a "Report" button. After three reports a comment is hidden until a moderator decides. You can report illegal content with that button (a notice under Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act) or by writing to editor@gregciupek.com. If you leave an email address, we confirm that we received the report.
- We may shorten or remove a comment that breaks these rules. If we remove your comment after a report and you left an email address, we tell you why.
Answers from the author
Answers from Greg Ciupek carry a "Site author" badge and my photo. The badge only appears on posts from the editorial account, so if someone signs with my name and there is no badge, it is not me. I can mark the most helpful answer in a thread as the "Best answer".
Answers are not legal, tax or investment advice. I write from the rules, from data on my sites and from my own experience. For tax and legal decisions the last word belongs to your accountant, a tax adviser or the tax authority.
Your data
Only your name or nickname, your comment and the date are public. Your email address is never published. We send notifications about replies only after you confirm your address, and every notification has an unsubscribe link. Details, including how to delete your comment: privacy policy.
